1987-02-14 Evander Holyfield w rsc 7 (15) Henry Tillman, Bally’s Hotel & Casino, Reno, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Making his first defence, against his former Olympic Games team-mate, Holyfield (188½) was quickly down to business and in the second round had his rival over with a right to the face. Although Tillman (189) got to his feet and tried to fight back it was noticeable that Holyfield had the power and it was just a matter of time when he would find a finishing punch. Attacking Tillman to the body was paying dividends and by the sixth the latter had run out of ideas as Holyfield kept coming on. In the seventh Tillman finally crumbled, and after being dropped three times by heavy lefts and rights the fight was terminated at 1.43 of the session under the three knockdowns in a round ruling.
