1987-05-03 Bobby Czyz w rsc 6 (15) Jim MacDonald, Convention Centre, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Tony Orlando. After two quick defences of his title, Czyz (174¼) picked his punches this time round and although he staggered MacDonald (175) in the second and third rounds he stuck to the game plan. In the fourth Czyz began to go to the body more in an effort to slow MacDonald down and he carried on that line of attack into the sixth before nailing the latter with solid blows to the head from both hands. Despite MacDonald being stunned he did not go down, but having taken a good look at him following a solid left uppercut to the chin that wobbled him the referee decided to stop the contest 37 seconds into the session.
