1987-05-24 Chan-Young Park w rsc 11 (15) Takuya Muguruma, City Gym, Moriguchi, Japan - WBA. Referee: Larry Rozadilla. In a contest where the title changed hands yet again, Park (118) proved that he was a man to be reckoned with when he forced the referee to intervene to save Muguruma (118) from shipping further punishment at 1.26 of the 11th round. Despite getting away to a good start, Muguruma was halted in his tracks by a collision of heads in the third round which undoubtedly upset his rhythm, and from the seventh onwards Park (118) forged ahead. Blasting his way forward and gradually taking all the fight out of the champion, Park was now totally dominant. Although there were no recorded knockdowns Muguruma was on the verge of being kayoed when rescued by the referee at 1.26 of the 11th.
