1987-05-30 [[Mike Tyson]] w rsc 6 (12) [[Pinklon Thomas]], Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA/WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Making up for his poor performance against [[Bonecrusher Smith]] last time out, the champion quickly dispelled the doubts when he tore into Thomas (217¾) from the opening bell, hitting his man with everything bar the kitchen sink. Amazingly, Thomas remained upright and even came back during the next four rounds to make a fight of it despite being hurt again on several occasions. Just when the crowd though Thomas might get back into it, Tyson (218¾) struck when a tremendous right uppercut almost lifted the challenger off his feet. Throwing punch after punch at his hapless challenger, eventually Tyson found another big left hook that floored Thomas and even though the latter was in the process of getting up the referee had seen enough and stopped the contest on the two-minute mark.
