1987-05-30 Tony Tucker w rsc 10 (15) James Buster Douglas, Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - IBF. Referee: Mills Lane. Contesting the vacant title, both Tucker (222¼) and Douglas (228¼) had promised much but in truth the fight never really got going. By the seventh Douglas seemed to be in front with his better boxing but from thereon he began to tire and Tucker, who had pulled a muscle in his right arm in the second, began to pick up the pace with good body punches. In the tenth, after being badly hurt by a big right to the jaw and not fighting back, Douglas was rescued by the referee at 1.36 of the session.
