The challenger made the best of starts when dropping Drayton (154) with a big right to the head in the opening session, but was unable to produce a finish as the veteran came back from the brink. Although Drayton was hit throughout by body shots and solid blows to the head he was never on the floor again, and while it was always competitive he failed to hurt Hilton (154) until the latter stages when the Canadian was tiring.
