Looking to regain his old title, Arredondo (139¾) was a lot sharper this time round and immediately took the fight to the champion, bloodying his nose in the first and cutting him over the right eye in the second. Stung into action, Hamada (139¾) had a big third, slamming away from head to body, but in the next round Arredondo quickly reasserted himself with left jabs before opening up with left hooks. There was no let up and with Arredondo well ahead and Hamada, both eyes almost closed, being severely punished in the sixth the referee halted the contest after 43 seconds of the session.
