1987-09-20 Myung-Woo Yuh w co 8 (15) Rodolfo Blanco, Sunin University Gym, Inchon, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Enzo Montero. It was not until the unbeaten Yuh (107½) had been given a stern test by Blanco (106½) in the early rounds that he eventually worked out a way to beat the challenger. Using the left hand effectively, the taller Blanco gave the champion all he could handle until Yuh cut loose in the eighth round. Targeting the head rather than the body, a left hook poleaxed the fading Colombian, who was counted out at 2.18 of the round.

At their annual convention in October, the WBA decreed that in future all of their world title bouts would be contested over 12 rounds and subsequently all world title bouts in this weight class would be held over that distance.
