1987-10-10 Jose Luis Ramirez w co 5 (12) Cornelius Boza-Edwards, The Zenith, Paris, France - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. In a battle of southpaws, despite making a bright start the challenger was badly hurt in the opening round and struggled to make it to the bell. Although Ramirez (134½) repeated the dose in the second, Boza-Edwards (135) finally got into the fight in the third when he traded heavy head shots, but in the fourth with his right eye cut and swollen he was beginning to take a beating. Things were now desperate for Boza-Edwards and in the fifth he was simply unable to stem the flood of blows coming his way and following a battery of heavy shots to the head he was dropped to the canvas to be counted out after 60 seconds of the session.
