1987-10-10 Jose Luis Ramirez w co 5 (12) Cornelius Boza-Edwards, The Zenith, Paris, France - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. In a battle of southpaws, despite making a bright start the challenger was badly hurt in the opening round and struggled to make it to the bell. Although Ramirez (134½) repeated the dose in the second, Boza-Edwards (135) finally got into the fight in the third when he traded heavy head shots, but in the fourth, his right eye cut and swollen, he was beginning to take a beating. With things now desperate for Boza-Edwards he was simply unable to stem the flood of blows coming his way in the fifth, and following a battery of heavy shots to the head he was dropped to the canvas to be counted out after 60 seconds of the session.
