1987-11-21 Julian Jackson w rsc 3 In-Chul Baek, Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Mills Lane. With Mike McCallum moving up a weight division, Jackson (153) met Baek (154) to decide the vacant title, and although the contest started slowly before the opening round was over the latter had been dropped by a long left. Saved by the bell, Baek plodded forward in the second, but Jackson, again switching to southpaw on occasion, was soon firing with both hands from head to body. Coming out for the third it was not long before Jackson wobbled Baek with heavy combinations, prior to dropping him with a left hook. Although the South Korean got to his feet, seeing that he was all at sea the referee rescued him at 1.17 of the session.
