1987-12-06 Chong-Pal Park w rsc 2 (12) Jesus Gallardo, Sajik Gym, Seoul, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Carlos Berrocal. In a contest that was the first WBA championship fight at the weight, Park (168), who had given up the IBF version of the title to take on Gallardo (165), came out firing in the opening round only to be knocked over by a southpaw left. Having got up, Park immediately retaliated when knocking Gallardo down twice before the first round was over and after just 27 seconds of the second had elapsed the contest was halted when the referee held the latter up following a cracking straight right that had threatened to put him down.
