1988-02-06 Greg Haugen w pts 15 Vinny Pazienza, Convention Centre, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Tony Perez. Scorecards: 149-138, 149-138, 145-140. In a return fight, this time round Haugen (135) took control right from the start, scoring heavily with lefts and rights as he began to dominate an extremely tough champion. Cut over the left eye in the ninth it was difficult to see how Pazienza (135) was going to pull it off, but he gave it his best shot when attacking furiously in the tenth, only for Haugen to come right back at him with solid blows producing even more blood. The final session saw Pazienza letting fly with everything he had, while Haugen, countering strongly, fully deserved his victory in what had been a magnificent battle between two warriors.
