1988-02-29 Daniel Zaragoza w rsc 10 (12) Carlos Zarate, Inglewood Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBC. Referee: Vince Delgado. Contested for the title vacated by Jeff Fenech, Zaragoza (121½) completely dominated the veteran, Zarate (121¾), who came apart at the seams as southpaw lefts continually found their mark to his head. Occasionally, Zarate showed flashes of past form, but after a big effort in the eighth he was rocked in the ninth and took a pounding throughout the session. Allowed to come out for the tenth, Zarate wearily slipped to the canvas before being shaken up severely by a left to the jaw and it was no surprise when the referee called it off on the 2.54 mark.
