Contested for the title left vacant by Kyung-Yung Lee, the unbeaten Lucas (104) got off to a fast finish before being pegged back and cut over the right eye by Sithnaruepol (105) in the ninth round. Bleeding badly, midway through the 11th the ringside doctor was asked to examine the cut and eventually decided to pull Lucas out on the 2.11 mark, the decision controversially being decided by the judges.
