1988-04-30 Miguel Lora w pts 12 Lucio Lopez, Indian Bullring, Cartagena, Colombia - WBC. Referee: Ismael Quinones. Scorecards: 116-113, 115-112, 114-113. Surviving a knockdown in the second round, Lora (118), hit by a long right hook, overcame that to find the centre of the ring where he could control the fight with jabs and combinations. Following his early success, the hard-punching Lopez (117¾) concentrated on attacking the body, but was generally outscored by the fast-moving champion. Both men finished with swollen right eyes and Lora also had a cut by the side of his left optic.
