Outclassed despite putting the champion down in the fourth, Uchida (114¾) was always running second to Roman (115) and the fifth round saw him finally overwhelmed. Down from combination punches at the start of the session, on resuming Uchida was dumped again, this time by a left hook, and the referee wisely called it off after 39 seconds when he was in the act of rising.
