1988-08-14 Sung-Kil Moon w tdec 6 Kaokor Galaxy, New Ramada Renaissance Hotel, Seoul, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Ken Morita. Scorecards: 49-48, 50-49, 50-45. Having had to shed weight after going to the scales for the first time, Galaxy (118) made a cautious start as did Moon (118), but in the sixth round the action warmed up considerably. Unfortunately, following a collision of heads that left the challenger with a badly-damaged right-eye the fight was halted just 39 seconds into the session. Although the incident was deemed to be accidental, Moon, ahead on all three judges’ scorecards was returned the winner and new champion in only his seventh fight.
