1988-10-07 [[Graciano Rocchigiani]] w rtd 11 (12) [[Chris Reid]], Deutschland Hall, Berlin, Germany - IBF. Referee: Frank Cappuccino. Although Reid (165½) made an aggressive start he was soon finding the champion’s southpaw stance difficult to handle. Round by round Rocchigiani (166¼) moved ahead as his jab continued to pick up the points and in the seventh Reid was under severe pressure and fortunate to last out the session. Cut over the left eye in the eighth and then dropped, even though it was classified as a slip it did not do much for Reid’s chances, especially as he was unable to hurt Rocchigiani at any stage. In the 11th following several heavy blows to the head and with Reid still standing, at 2.39 his corner threw in the towel.
