1988-10-09 Khaosai Galaxy w rsc 8 Chang-Ho Choi, Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel, Seoul, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Larry Rozadilla. In something of a mismatch, Galaxy (115) got on top from the opening bell and went on to floor Choi (115) three times in the fourth round before picking it up again in the eighth and blasting the challenger to the canvas. Dispensing with the count, the referee called it off on the 56-second mark to allow Choi immediate medical attention. Following the formation of the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) in November, which came about after 27 delegates walked out of the WBA convention a month earlier, the new organisation nominated Jose Ruiz and Bebis Rojas to decide their version of the vacant title.
