After a fairly even first round, Williams (174¾) got down to work and dropped his challenger twice in the second and twice in the third before the referee halted the contest at 2.21 of the third. Right from the start Williams proved to be far too strong for Angulo (174) and had belaboured him with left jabs and rights to the head, while working him over with left hooks to the body. Angulo finished the contest with his right eye cut and a gashed forehead.
