1988-11-11 Jose Sanabria w rsc 6 Thierry Jacob, Sports Hall, Gravelines, France - IBF. Referee: Denny Nelson. The southpaw challenger made a poor start, being cut over the right eye near the end of the first round before coming back strongly to hurt Sanabria (121¾) in the second. Unfortunately for Jacob (120¾) he was shaken up and cut over the left eye in the third, but under pressure in the fourth he fought well to get back into the contest. However, in the sixth a succession of hooks to the face put him down for a count of ‘eight’ and on getting to his feet the now rampant Sanabria sent in a stream of hooks before the referee called it off.
