1989-02-21 Dennis Andries w rsc 5 Tony Willis, Convention Centre, Tucson, Arizona, USA - WBC. Referee: Carlos Padilla. In a fight for the vacant title and looking to get back his old belt, Andries (173) immediately went after Willis (173½), throwing in punches from both hands and generally looking much stronger than his opponent. All the unbeaten Willis seemed able to do was to hold and at the end of the third he was deducted a point. The fourth saw much of the same from Willis and it was no surprise when a left-right-left dropped him in the fifth before being deemed unable to carry on with ten seconds of the session remaining.
