1989-05-27 Virgil Hill w rsc 7 Joe Lasisi, Civic Centre, Bismarck, North Dakota, USA - WBA. Referee: Hubert Earle. A difficult task for Lasisi (173) became even more difficult when he was dropped by a left-hand counter and then comprehensively outboxed by the champion for round after round. Lasisi was never in the fight and although he caught Hill (173) with an overarm right in the fifth and occasionally landed good body shots the latter remained unperturbed. It was Hill’s speed and accuracy with left jabs and hooks that did the damage and by the sixth Lasisi was banged up around both eyes and looking like a beaten man. The seventh finally saw Hill unload and after battering the tough Lasisi with lefts and rights and with nothing coming back the referee stopped the fight 116 seconds into the session.
