26 August Raul Perez w rtd 7 Cardenio Ulloa, Tortuga Gym, Santiago, Chile - WBC. Referee: Jose Simon De Lima. Retaining his composure, the incredibly tall Perez (116¾) took all that the challenger had to offer in the early stages and then set about busting him up with sharp and precise punches. Whatever he tried was doomed to failure and by the fifth round Ulloa (117¾) was being hit with everything but the kitchen sink. Finally, in the interval between the seventh and eighth rounds, after working on Ulloa feverishly his corner retired him, his nose badly damaged, his left eye swollen and his right eye, which was closing rapidly, making it impossible for him to continue.
