1989-08-26 Raul Perez w rtd 7 Cardenio Ulloa, Tortuga Gym, Santiago, Chile - WBC. Referee: Jose Simon De Lima. Retaining his composure, the incredibly tall Perez (116¾) took all that the challenger had to offer in the early stages before setting about busting him up with sharp and precise punches. Whatever Ulloa (117¾) tried was doomed to failure, and by the fifth round he was being hit with everything but the kitchen sink. Finally, in the interval between the seventh and eighth rounds, after working on Ulloa feverishly his corner retired him. With his nose badly damaged, his left eye swollen, and his right eye closing rapidly, it was impossible for him to continue.
