1989-09-09 [[Kenny Mitchell]] w pts 12 [[Simon Skosana]], Roberto Clemente Stadium, San Juan, Puerto Rico - WBO. Scorecards: 119-114, 119-110, 119-113. Dominating the fight, the champion had it all his own way as Skosana, who was caught time and again with all kinds of punches, seemed unable to get going. It soon became obvious that Mitchell was just too strong and too persistent for Skosana, who suffered a badly cut right eye in the sixth, and whatever the latter tried was in vain as he stumbled to a clear-cut points defeat. Both men suffered cut eyes, Mitchell over the left and Skosana over the right.
