1989-11-07 Nana Yaw Konadu w pts 12 Gilberto Roman, International Arena, Mexico City, Mexico - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. Scorecards: 116-109, 118-104, 119-103. A stunning upset saw Roman (115), cut over the left eye and floored five times - once in the first, twice in the third and twice in the fourth - before being battered loose from his title. It was there for all to see once Konadu (115), a tall, stand-up fighter, landed the big left hook in the first round and Roman never really got to grips with him, being lucky to last out the contest.
