Despite boxing well to instructions, Chavez (105) was cut in the sixth round following a head clash, which was deemed to have been accidental. Unfortunately for Chavez the ringside doctor inspected the cut in the seventh and the fight was called off at 1.40 of the session, leaving Lukmingkwan (105) as the new champion.
