1990-03-03 [[Mark Breland]] w rsc 3 [[Lloyd Honeyghan]], The Arena, Wembley, London, England - WBA. Referee: Julio Alvarado. After catching Breland (146½) heavily with the first punch of the fight, a looping right hander, the challenger was put under pressure thereafter before being rescued by the referee after 2.15 of the third. With Breland jabbing and moving fluently, Honeyghan (147) appeared to be at a loss and after being put down heavily by a long left he just about made it to the end of the first round. Cut on the left eye and confused, he came out for the second to face more of the same and ended the session on the floor for the third time, having been dropped earlier on. The nightmare continued for Honeyghan as Breland put him down three more times in the third, the last time coming after he had been caught by almost 30 punches that were unopposed and left dazed on the canvas immediately prior to the referee making sure he would not be fighting anymore that night.
