1990-03-18 Jeff Harding w rsc 11 Nestor Giovannini,  Resorts International Hotel,  Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBC. Referee: Joe Cortez. In what was another tough battle for Harding (174), who chose to walk through the punches from first to last, it was probably just as well for him that the challenger injured his right hand in the second round. Dropped by a left hook to the head in the third, Giovannini (175) was immediately galvanised into action before taking a low one and given time out to recover. Cut over the left eye in the seventh when heads came together, Harding continued to take the fight to Giovannini and in the tenth he floored him with a solid left hook. Despite that, Giovannini came out for the 11th as if nothing had happened, but after being sent crashing by heavy lefts to the head he was rescued on the 56 second mark without the referee bothering to take up the count.
