1990-04-07 Jorge Paez w pts 12 Louie Espinoza, Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - IBF/WBO. Referee: Richard Steele. Scorecards: 115-113, 115-113, 113-115. In a battle to unify two titles, Espinoza (126) made a bright start, winning the first four rounds with good combinations working well for him before Paez (126) began to turn it around in the fifth right through to the tenth. The last three sessions were again strongly contested, but by now Paez had his nose in front and although Espinoza shaded the 11th the former just about did enough for the decision to go his way.
