1990-05-12 Orlando Fernandez w rtd 10 Valerio Nati, The Arena, Sassari, Italy - WBO. Referee: Denny Nelson. Losing the title in his first defence, Nati (121¾) was dominated from the opening bell by Fernandez (121¼) in what turned out to be a one-sided contest. He had been dropped in the sixth, cut on the left eye and was being pounded without return against the ropes when his corner threw the towel in to bring about an intervention at 1.10 of the tenth round.
