1990-05-13 Bong-Jun Kim w tdec 5 Silverio Barcenas, Kunsan University Gym, Seoul, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Kazamasa Kuwata. Scorecards: 39-37, 39-37, 38-39. Boxing smartly on the retreat, the southpaw Barcenas (104) overcame a tough second round to get back into the fight before Kim (104¾) sustained a bad cut, which was caused by a butt in round five. With the referee deciding that the cut was too bad for the champion to continue under WBA rules it went to the scorecards at 1.17 of the session.
