1990-07-27 Masimilliano Duran w disq 11 Carlos De Leon, Outdoor Arena, Capo D'Orlando, Italy - WBC. Referee: Bob Logist. With just 15 bouts to his credit, two of them being losses, the Italian champion started confidently, scoring well with the left jab and crossing the right, before De Leon (189) began to come more and more into it. At the start of the 11th, with Duran (183) was marginally ahead on two of the scorecards and dead level on the other, the desperate De Leon finally picked up the pace to have Duran over with a push rather than a punch. Although De Leon was cautioned by the referee for clipping Duran when he was down before taking up the count, when the latter got to his feet he drove the champion into a corner where he punched away non-stop until the bell rang to end the round. It was then that the trouble started. After the referee had parted the two men, De Leon went after Duran, knocking him to the floor with a right hander, and following several minutes of uproar it was announced that the referee had disqualified the champion.
