1990-07-28 Dennis Andries w co 7 Jeff Harding, Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. In regaining his old title from the man he lost it to, Andries (174) showed once again his remarkable powers of recovery as he battled to overcome the champion’s lead. After a couple of sticky rounds Harding had won four straight and although swollen above the left eye he came out for the seventh confident of victory. At this stage of the fight the tiring Andries knew what he had to do and he continually pushed Harding back, while taking shots himself, before landing with a tremendous overarm right that sent the latter down. Although Harding, his left eye pouring blood, made a mighty effort to get to his feet he just failed to do so, being counted out with 45 seconds of the session remaining.
