1990-07-31 Rafael Torres w pts 12 Husni Ray, Senayan Indoor Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia - WBO.  Referee: Mariano Soto. Scorecards: 118-112, 115-114, 114-115. In a hard-fought contest, Torres (104½) retained the title with his southpaw aggression being the deciding factor despite the gallant Ray (104¼) coming on strong over the last four rounds to make it extremely close. Torres forfeited the WBO version of the title in May 1992, having remained inactive, and it was not until Scotland’s Paul Weir arrived on the scene that the WBO had a champion at this weight again.
