1990-08-11 Hector Camacho w pts 12 Tony Baltazar, Caesar’s Palace, Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Nevada, USA - WBO. Referee: Richard Steele. Scorecards: 118-109, 117-110, 118-109. Hoping to give Camacho (140) a hard time, Baltazar (140) eventually went the way of the champion’s previous 39 opponents as he found the fluid movement and hand speed too much to handle virtually throughout the contest. The hard-punching Baltazar did have some successes, especially when digging in solid left hooks to the body, but he was never able to consolidate and often found himself rushing in to be tied up by the cagey Camacho. For much of the time it was Camacho, snapping back Baltazar’s head with speedy southpaw jabs and blinding combinations, who led the way, and although the fight was always competitive there was only ever going to be one winner.
