1990-08-17 [[Paul Banke]] w rsc 12 [[Ki-Jun Lee]], Civil Gym, Inchon, South Korea - WBC. Referee: Lupe Garcia. The aggressive challenger made a good start to have Banke (122) on the defensive, and although the latter got into the action despite being put under a lot of pressure he was still not doing enough. After winning the seventh, connecting with solid punches to head and body, it looked as though Banke had turned the corner, but Lee (121¾) came back strongly to take the next two sessions before the champion finally got to him. Attacking for almost all of the 11th, Banke eventually put Lee down only for the bell to come to the challenger’s rescue. Smashed down again, Lee eventually sunk to the canvas face first before the referee called a halt with 1.05 of the fight remaining. Both men finished battered and weary, Lee carrying a closed left eye and Banke with similar damage to his right eye.
