1990-11-24 Julian Jackson w co 4 Herol Graham, Torrequebrada Hotel & Casino, Benalmadena, Spain - WBC. Referee: Joe Cortez. In a contest to decide the vacant title, Britain’s Graham (160) was paired against Jackson (160), a former junior middles champion with 38 inside the distance wins from 40 fights, 27 of them by clean knockout. Making a great start, Graham had never boxed better when taking the first three rounds, closing Jackson’s left eye and hurting him with solid southpaw punches, and at that stage one would have bet their house on him winning. After the doctor had taken a good look at Jackson’s damaged eye during the interval, the Virgin Islander came out for the fourth and was immediately caught by a string of punches as Graham went looking for the kayo. At this stage of the fight Jackson had barely landed a blow on Graham, but when the latter moved in to finish the job leaving his chin exposed a vicious right hook smashed him to the canvas to be counted out after 1.13 of the round. It was one of the heaviest single knockout blows one could imagine and the effect on Graham was devastating.
