1990-12-15 Michael Moorer w co 8 Danny Stonewalker, Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - WBO. Referee: Frank Cappuccino. Retaining his title for the ninth time, Moorer (175) had little trouble with his challenger after putting him down in the opening round with a southpaw jab. Unsteady on his feet in the second and cut on the nose in the fifth, Stonewalker (174¾) was still there even if he was not a threat and in the seventh he was dropped again, this time after taking an overarm left to the head. Rescued by the bell after being floored again, Stonewalker was counted out after just 11 seconds of the eighth, having been decked by the first punch of the session, a straight left to the body.

Moorer relinquished the WBO version of the title in April 1991 to campaign as a heavyweight and Tom Collins was signed up to fight Leeonzer Barber to find a new champion.
