1991-02-03 [[Kiyoshi Hatanaka]] w rsc 8 [[Pedro Decima]], Exhibition Hall, Nagoya, Japan - WBC. Referee: Lupe Garcia. Having struggled to make the weight, Decima (121½) made a quick start to floor his challenger in the opening round before being dropped four times himself in a dreadful fourth when coming under fire from barrages of lefts and rights. Somehow he recovered in the fifth and sixth rounds, but was dropped again in the seventh by a Hatanaka (121¾) straight left. The fight came to a close virtually on the bell to end round eight after Decima, who had been dropped again for a mandatory ‘eight’ count, was asked by the referee whether he wanted to continue and failed to convince the third man that he had something left in the tank.
