1991-02-23 [[Chris Eubank]] w tdec 10 [[Dan Sherry]], Conference Centre, Brighton, England - WBO. Referee: Frank Santore Jr. Scorecards: 95-93, 95-92, 93-95. Sherry (160) proved to be a difficult man to catch as he went backwards for much of the time, occasionally leaping in with counters, while the champion chased shadows until the middle rounds. In the first round it had looked as though the upright Canadian would not be around for long when he found himself on the floor from a left jab. Cut by the left eye in the third, it did not stop Sherry from dancing around Eubank (160) scoring points and by the ninth it seemed as though there was little in it. In that session Eubank opened up a bad cut on Sherry’s lower lip and in the tenth he butted the latter who dropped to his knees belatedly, hoping for a disqualification win. The referee decided to deduct two points from Eubank instead of disqualifying him due to Sherry’s histrionics and when the challenger was deemed not fit to continue after 2.11 of the session it went to the cards.
