1991-03-09 Bobby Czyz w pts 12 Robert Daniels, Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBA. Referee: Rudy Battle. Scorecards: 119-112, 116-114, 114-116. Starting at a brisk pace, Czyz’s left jab was soon finding its way through the champion’s high guard and that set the pattern for the rest of the fight. Well in front after six rounds, Czyz (186½) was also firing in right crosses and hooks to the body to wear Daniels (188¼) down. The remainder of the contest saw Daniels pressing Czyz and coming on strong from the ninth onwards with solid, if not heavy combinations to close the gap. Realising that his lead was being pegged back, the former IBF light-heavyweight champion made a big effort in the final session and despite being totally exhausted as Daniels attacked the body he held on for the win.
