1991-03-16 [[Gianfranco Rosi]] w pts 12 [[Ron Amundsen]], Sports Palace, St Vincent, Italy - IBF. Referee: Randy Neumann. Scorecards: 118-111, 118-111, 116-113. Making a solid start, the champion showed all of his ringcraft as he boxed his way into a clear lead after eight rounds, although he was always aware that the Amundsen (154) left hook was a punch he needed to avoid as best he could. Then, in the ninth, Amundsen’s left hook almost dropped Rosi (154), who stopped himself from going down by hanging on to the challenger for dear life. Sensing an opportunity, Amundsen relentlessly moved forward, but the crafty Rosi kept on his toes to weather the storm, despite being further hurt a couple of times, and at the final bell he was back in control of the situation.
