1991-05-04 [[Orlando Canizales]] w rsc 8 [[Billy Hardy]], Civic Centre, Laredo, Texas, USA - IBF. Referee: Robert Gonzalez. Continuing to show good form, Canizales (118) outboxed and outpunched Hardy (118), who was trying to improve on their previous meeting, staggering the Englishman in the second before dropping him in the third and generally dictating matters. However, from there on it seemed merely a matter of time, despite a brave rally by the challenger in rounds six and seven, and in the next session a left hook parted Hardy from his senses and sent him crashing to be rescued by the referee on the 1.08 mark.
