1991-05-05 Gilbert Dele w pts 12 Jun-Suk Hwang, Carpentier Hall, Paris, France - WBA. Referee: Eddie Eckert. Scorecards: 118-114, 119-109, 119-109. Boxing in a sensible fashion against his tough challenger, Dele (154) showed an excellent left jab, backed up by solid uppercuts, to control the fight virtually throughout despite having a few anxious moments. By the fourth Hwang (154) was already showing signs of wear and tear, and in the seventh when under severe pressure it looked as though he would not be around much longer. However, after Hwang came back strongly in the eighth to confound Dele and his supporters, although the latter sensibly kept it at long range from there on in to win comfortably he knew he had been in a fight.
