Line 1: Line 1:
1991-05-09 Leeonzer Barber w rtd 6 Tom Collins, Town Hall, Leeds, England - WBO. Referee: Roberto Ramirez. Fighting for the title relinquished by his stable-mate, Michael Moorer, Barber (173½) was soon on top of Collins (174½), who landed just one worthwhile punch in the whole of the contest before being retired at the start of the sixth. Barber, a 12-fight novice, had been expected to have trouble with his experienced foe but he was on top all the way as Collins stayed mainly on the ropes. Having been dropped by a right to the head in the second round, which left a bad swelling on his forehead, Collins did little other than take punishment after that and his retirement was a welcome relief.
