1991-05-10 [[Michael Carbajal]] w pts 12 [[Hector Luis Patri]], John O’Donnell Stadium, Davenport, Iowa, USA - IBF. Referee: James Reilly. Scorecards: 120-108, 119-109, 119-109. After [[Domingo Sosa]] pulled out, Patri (107) was substituted and, intent on merely surviving, made himself a difficult target for Carbajal (106½), who chased his challenger consistently. Whenever Carbajal could get close enough he pounded the body without any sign of the Argentinian capsizing and whilst his domination was almost total it did not deter Patri from punching away freely at times without making any real contact.
