1991-06-14 [[Edwin Rosario]] w rsc 3 [[Loreto Garza]], Arco Arena, Sacramento, California, USA - WBA. Referee: Larry Rozadilla. Tearing out at the bell it took Rosario (139½) just ten seconds to register a stunning setback to the champion’s chances when he dropped him with a crunching straight right. Although Garza (139) got up he was under pressure immediately and was put down again prior to the end of the first by a left-right combination. Decidedly hesitant, Garza somehow made it through the second and even nailed Rosario with some stiff left jabs at the start of the third until being countered over the top by a big right which had him wobbling. Bombing away with both hands, Rosario soon had Garza down for the third time in the fight and after the latter got up before being sent crashing again just moments later the referee called it off 69 seconds into the session.
